Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s agent has denied that Barcelona have reached an agreement with the player.

The German international stopper has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants, with speculation over the weekend claiming that a deal was in place for the 21-year-old to move to the Nou Camp at the end of the season.

However, agent Gerd vom Bruch insists that these reports are far from the truth, and that his client is in discussions with Borussia Monchengladbach over extending his current contract with the club.

"It is pure speculation," Vom Bruch told the Rheinische Post newspaper.

"There are two or three really good teams that are interested in Marc. And there is also Borussia. We are going to talk about a contract extension with Gladbach.”

Barcelona are currently looking for a replacement for Victor Valdes, with the Spanish international set to leave Catalonia at the end of the season.

A number of keepers have been mooted as potential replacements for the veteran, with Fraser Forster and Thiabut Courtois two names in the frame for the position.

Ter Stegen is also a legitimate candidate for Barca boss Gerardo Martino, but it appears that the Blaugrana have not struck a deal with any of the candidates at this stage.
