Marouane Fellaini will prove to be an excellent signing at Old Trafford, according to former Manchester United and Everton striker Louis Saha, reports the Daily Mail.
The Belgium international left Goodison Park to link up with the Premier League champions in a £27.5million deal on transfer deadline day - a move that also reunited him with manager David Moyes.
Fellaini has come into criticism from some Manchester United supporters, following a series of disappointing early season performances, but Saha - who played alongside the 25-year-old during his time at Everton - is sure that Moyes was right to add him to his squad, and has backed him to have the same sort of impact as Roy Keane.
"Marouane Fellaini is an excellent signing," said the former France international in his Daily Mail Footballers' Football column. "I have heard lots of people say that he is not the type of player that United need and he is not a United player. But I do not agree with that.
"He is like Darren Fletcher and Roy Keane in that he works hard to win the ball back for his side. Keane was aggressive in his time and I believe Fellaini can do the same sort of job, plus he can score goals."
Last month, Fellaini admitted that he was struggling to adapt to the sharper pace of the Manchester United training sessions, but that hasn't stopped Saha from tipping the midfielder for a long-and successful career with his new club.
"He will need good advice from the manager and the staff to make sure he is in the right position on the field and it will take time for him to adapt," added Saha.
"But, I am sure that when he settles in and finds his position he will be able to do some damage."
