Manchester United are close to completing a deal for Desportivo Brazil wonderkid Bruno Gomes, according to the Daily Star.
The 17-year-old forward, who spent last summer on trial at the Premier League champions, is said to be attracting the interest of Real Madrid, Udinese and Sao Paulo after scoring 122 goals in three years for Desportivo Brazil.
However former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly agreed a deal with Gomes' parent side that would see the teenager move to Old Trafford when he turns 18 - as long as a rival team did not bid significantly higher than the Red Devils.
Reports suggest Ferguson's successor David Moyes has given Manchester United officials the green light to pursue the signing of Gomes.
However United, who remain favourites to sign the Brazilian, will have to move quickly to complete the deal with Madrid, Udinese and Sao Paulo all said to be competing with Moyes' side for Gomes' signature.
