Liverpool target Montoya to discuss Barcelona future

Liverpool and Arsenal target Martin Montoya will discuss his Barcelona future with the Catalan giants later this week, reports the Daily Star.

The defender, who was linked with a summer move to Arsenal, is said to be unhappy at the lack of game time he is currently receiving at the Camp Nou.

Montoya has made just one senior appearance for Barcelona so far this season - despite Gerardo Martino being unable to call on the likes of Carles Puyol and Jordi Alba for large periods of the season.

The 22-year-old Spaniard is likely to ask for a move away from the Camp Nou if he not guaranteed more first team appearances in the foreseeable future.

However Montoya's demands are unlikely to be met with Barcelona star Dani Alves continuing to impress at right-back.

News of Montoya's apparent unrest will have boosted Arsenal and Liverpool's hopes of signing Montoya in January or during next summer's transfer window.
