Luis Suarez in dubious penalty dive

Published 1 Comments

Liverpool star Luis Suarez may have shown exactly why some football fans don't believe the striker is a reformed character  - after an apparent shocking dive to win a penalty for his country last night.

The Uruguayan has only just returned from a 10 match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, but has already hit the headlines for his actions once again.

The incident occurred during Uruguay's 3-2 qualification over an Argentina side who had already booked their place at next year's finals.

With the scores at 1-1, Suarez tries to get in between the Argentine centre-back partnership and win the ball from a left-wing cross.

The cross was cleared easily by the first man, but Suarez falls down after an apparent push in the back.

Replays show that although the hand of the defender may have made contact with the Liverpool man - it doesn't look like the contact was enough to make the forward fall in such an aggressive manor.

Suarez picked himself up to convert the penalty and help his nation secure a World Cup play-off against Asian qualification side Jordan.

Was it a dive or not?

Watch above and decide.
