England have qualified for the World Cup.

As usual it was a nervy encounter, but unlike in 2001, it didn't take a 90th minute free-kick from a certain someone to save our skins.

Unlike 2008, we didn't fall at the final hurdle either.

Instead it was Steven Gerrard who sealed a 2-0 win with a deft finish, after Wayne Rooney had nodded England in front.

Elsewhere, England's U21s ran out comfortable winners, with Ravel Morrison once again attracting compliments and plaudits.

But who would make the plane to Brazil if the selection was made right now?

Goalkeepers:
Joe Hart
Fraser Forster
John Ruddy (although Ben Foster will be giving Ruddy an extremely close run for his money)

Defenders:
Leighton Baines
Ashley Cole
Glen Johnson
Chris Smalling
Gary Cahill
Phil Jagielka
Kyle Walker
Phil Jones

Midfielders:
Steven Gerrard
Frank Lampard
Jack Wilshere
Michael Carrick
Ravel Morrison- one of the most in-form Englishmen in the Premier League at the moment.
Andros Townsend
Theo Walcott

Strikers:
Daniel Sturridge
Wayne Rooney
Danny Welbeck
Jermain Defoe
Ricky Lambert- a different option up front in terms of a big target man

However, Roy may not be bold enough to go with 5 strikers on the plane to Brazil. Although Welbeck has been utilised out wide for a few games by the England chief.
