When footballer's names get changed (1)

One of the main success stories at the start of this Premier League season has been the emergence of West Ham's Ravel Morrison.

The tricky midfielder came through the ranks at Manchester United but was allowed to join the Hammers when Sir Alex Ferguson decided he could no longer keep Morrison on the straight and narrow, with his off-field behaviour hampering his development.

This season the 20-year-old has began to display his obvious talents and has forced his way into the England Under 21 squad, with a couple of impressive displays for the young Lions suggesting he could easily make the step up.

However, one question that's yet to be asked is why Morrison has broken convention and decided to adopt the name "Ravel" on the back of his shirt rather than using his surname, as is the norm.

With that in mind, GMS have put together a list of players who, like Morrison, have gone by alternative names during their career.
