With the group stage of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers over, nine national teams have already booked a place in Brazil.
Soon another four teams will be joining them, making it 13 participants from the European bracket.
Here we look at what went down on the final match day in group E.
Cyprus 0-0 Albania
In a dull affair the bottom two teams of group E played more of a sparring match than a competitive one.
The atmosphere of the match was somewhat flat, which doesn’t come as a surprise since the only highlights of the match were a few easy saves from the keepers.
Norway 1-1 Iceland
Iceland went into the match a point in front of Slovenia.
They needed a win to secure a play-off spot, in case Slovenia beat group E winners Switzerland.
Luckily for them, Slovenia lost the game, so the draw away against Norway only confirmed their position as runners-up.
Iceland started the match well, taking the lead 12 minutes in. However, Norway bounced back, equalising on the half hour mark through Braaten.
With the score level, chances were few and far between.
Reaching the play-offs is a massive feat for Iceland - who are yet to play a major tournament.
Who knows, they might even make it to Brazil, I don’t envy their opponents, playing away to Iceland in mid-November!
Switzerland 1-0 Slovenia
Slovenia needed to better Iceland’s result to make it to the play-offs, and with Iceland drawing with Norway, the Slovenians needed an away win against group winners Switzerland.
However they missed their chance by losing the match and finished third.
After a goalless first half, Xhaka netted for the hosts, ensuring Slovenia weren’t going anywhere next year.
