It is often said that the Barcelona team of the last five years is the best team to have ever graced the planet.

It unarguably contains some of the greatest - if not the greatest - in the form of Lionel Messi. However, if we look closer it can be seen that this current crop of Bayern stars are in fact a better all-round team.

This all starts with the goalkeeper. In Manuel Neuer, Bayern have one of the most consistently brilliant shot-stoppers around. He was one of the main reasons as to why Bayern went over 1000 minutes without conceding. Compare this to the uncertain Victor Valdes who has often made high-profile mistakes such as against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup in 2012 or in the 2012 Champions League against PSG.

With Barcelona you know what you are going to get, a team that keeps the ball and will wait for the perfect pass to cut the defence in half. Although at times they are unplayable teams have proven that with patients and concentration they can be stopped. This was shown by Chelsea on the way to their Champions League glory in 2012 and Celtic in last year's competition.

With this Bayern team they have more than one way of playing with Mario Mandzukic they have a front man who is happy to hold up play at wait for the supporting cast to arrive. He can also act as an outlet when the team is under pressure. This something the Catalan giants do not possess.

Barca rarely provide a serious threat from set pieces which are such a key aspect of the game these days. With no real height except Pique and Marc Batra they rely on goals from open play. Once again Bayern posses something Barca do not. With the likes of Dante, Boateng, Martinez and Madzukic Bayern pose a constant threat from dead ball situations.

So for all of Barca's finesse and eloquence in it in the fact the German power that will dominate football for years to come especially with a young core of players such as Gotze, Thiago, Kroos and Alaba.
