Arsenal have been scouting possible replacements should Bacary Sagna fail to agree a new contract and have identified Roberto Rosales as one possible option.
According to the Daily Mail, Gunners scouts have been impressed with the FC Twente right-back and he has been added to the list of potential new recruits to cover for the loss of Sagna.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on getting the France international tied down to a new contract, but there has been no reported progress with contract talks.
Sagna is into the final year of his deal and will be 31 when it expires next summer and players over 30 under Wenger are traditionally only offered short-term deals, though his form recently could have persuaded the Emirates Stadium boss to make an exception to his policy.
However, Rosales is a solid option should Sagna decide to go elsewhere and has been part of a strong defence at Twente, who are currently top of the Eredivisie and have only conceded five goals in nine games.
Rosales became the first Venezuelan to score in the Champions League when he netted against Arsenal's local rivals in 2010.
