LeBron James has described his fear of failure as one of his 'biggest obstacles' as the Miami Heat superstar bids to make it three championships in a row with the NBA franchise.
The Heat begin the defence of their NBA title against the Chicago Bulls on October 30, and look in good shape to secure a third successive triumph after becoming champions in 2012 and 2013.
James, though, admits his desperation to succeed is something of a hindrance at times.
"That's one of my biggest obstacles. I'm afraid of failure," he told ESPN.
"I want to succeed so bad that I become afraid of failing."
But James has just the tonic to overcome his concerns over failing with the Heat - and that is to simply continuing posting wins as regularly as possible.
When asked how he conquers his fear, James added: "Just win [laughs]. Keep winning and I don't have to worry about it. Keep winning."
Heat are heavy favourites with bookmakers going into the new NBA season to secure their third consecutive title, with most offering the Miami franchise at odds as short as 2/1.
Oklahoma City Thunder are rated at 6/1, while third favourites Chicago Bulls are back on 9/1.
