The World Cup is the most prestigious competition in world football.

The best nations featuring the best players compete for the honour of being crowed World Champions.

Many stars arise from the competition and go on to do great things in domestic football.

Some use the competition to prove doubters wrong and put themselves in the shop window.

The Premier League will be represented by some great talent next summer with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Mesut Ozil, Sergio Aguero and Robin Van Persie all set to play in the South American heat.

Take a look at five of the biggest stars set to feature in Brazil who couldn't make a name for themselves in the Premier League
