Drogba beats star-studded cast to win 2013 Golden Foot Award
Golden Foot 2013: Didier Drogba beat Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta and many more to the prestigious prize
Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has won the 2013 Golden Foot Award, and was presented with the accolade at a ceremony in Monte Carlo, after more than four months of web voting.
The Ivory Coast international beat a star-studded list of the world's best footballers over the age of 28, and still playing, to the honour.
In the eleventh edition of the public voted title, the 35-year-old follows in the footsteps of Zlatan Ibrahimovic - who won it in 2012 - and becomes the first African player to scoop the prestigious prize.
Drogba is also only the second player to be honoured that has played in the Premier League, with Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs the other name from England's top-flight to receive recognition in 2011.
Each year the ceremony is attended by three former football stars, with Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama, Argentine great Ossie Ardiles and France's Jean-Pierre Papin this year's guests of honour.
