Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has mocked Tottenham at the Gunners' recent AGM.
While speaking about Gareth Bale, who became the world's most expensive footballer this summer when he left Tottenham for Real Madrid, Gazidis boasted that Spurs are not at the same level as Arsenal.
"Unfortunately he [Gareth Bale] doesn’t play for Tottenham Hotspur," Gazidis is quoted as saying by the Metro.
Before adding: "He now plays for one of our rivals."
Arsenal had the upper-hand over Spurs last season, pipping them to a fourth-place finish on the final day of the Premier League season.
And while both north London clubs have enjoyed encouraging starts to the campaign, it's the Gunners who currently sit top of the Premier League table, three points above Andre Villas-Boas's side.
The two clubs met at the start of September at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal took maximum points thanks to Olivier Giroud's first-half goal.
Both teams are being touted as potential Premier League title contenders, but they face stiff competition from Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and possibly Liverpool, too.
