Liverpool will be boosted by the return of three players for their trip to Newcastle on Saturday, reports the Daily Star.

Defenders Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho have been passed fit, whilst Welsh midfielder Joe Allen returns to the squad following a hamstring injury.

England right-back Johnson has been out of action after suffering an ankle injury during Liverpool's 1-0 victory against Manchester United in September.

And Cissokho, who is on loan from Valencia, is fit, but will have to fight for a place in the starting 11, with the likes of Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sissoko preferred by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Elsewhere Philippe Coutinho could also return after suffering recovering from a shoulder injury, meaning Rodgers could have a fully fit squad for the lunchtime game at St. James' Park.

Liverpool will be looking to continue their impressive start to the Premier League with another away win. The Reds have an impressive record against the Magpies, and humiliated them 6-0 last season.
