Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in moving for midfielder Arda Turan, according to Turkish newspaper Milliyet.
26-year-old Turan joined current club Atletico Madrid from Süper Lig champions Galatasaray during the summer of 2011 and has become an integral figure at the Vicente Calderon as Diego Simeone's charges have eagerly sought to provide welcome disruption to the Barcelona-Real Madrid axis that has dominated Spanish football in recent years.
The Turkish international, who has earned 65 senior caps for his nation, is renowned for his wily performances from wide areas and as such he has been frequently linked with potential moves to English football throughout his career.
Milliyet report that both long-serving Gunners boss Arsene Wenger - who today confirmed that he has indeed been offered an extension to his current contract at the Emirates Stadium - and Brendan Rodgers are both monitoring Turan and that both are eager to sign him at the end of the current season.
Which team he would opt to join if such a battle arose or indeed even if he would be willing to depart Atletico is unclear at this particular stage, however.
