Manchester United make Baines top target

Published Add your comment

Manchester United will renew their interest in Everton star Leighton Baines in January and make the England international their top target, according to The Express

United tried to bring the left-back to Old Trafford in the summer, but Everton held firm and rejected the Red Devils' offers.

However, this has not put David Moyes off as he is desperate to bring his former player to the Theatre of Dreams.

The United boss was able to bring Marouane Fellaini to Manchester on the final day of the transfer window and will now be hoping he lands Baines in January.

The 28-year-old has been in fine form for club and country so far this season and helped the Three Lions secure their place in the World Cup earlier this week.

United have identified the star as the ideal long-term replacement for Patrice Evra, who is now reaching the twilight years of his career.
