Under the management of composed and experienced Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, this summer Manchester City lavished plentiful sums on several apparent upgrades to a squad that comprehensively failed to live up to increased expectations across the board last season.
One such addition was versatile attacker Jovetic. Signed from Serie A outfit Fiorentina for a fee of approximately £22 million, the promising Montenegrin starlet - who has a somewhat concerning injury record - is yet to make his mark at the Etihad Stadium.
Having made just two appearances for the club to date in the Premier League, he is yet to register on the scoresheet. But while City fans may be wondering if they have wasted their time with the former FK Partizan man, Jovetic's previous exploits in Serie A and at international level in a massively underrated Balkan side suggest he has the ability to adapt and leave a lasting impact on these shores.
