Polish international Szczesny is a player who very much appears to divide opinion at Arsenal. While many consider him worthy of a starting berth, others evidently remain unconvinced by his talents and instead advocate the need for a more established and experienced goalkeeper.
Arsene Wenger, a man who has repeatedly shown that he is not particularly fazed by external pressure or indeed one to lose faith in young players easily, clearly supports the former Brentford loanee despite lingering uneasy rumblings from some quarters.
Ultimately, Szczesny is probably the right man for the job at the Emirates Stadium. Although he is occasionally prone to the odd rash error - perfectly highlighted by his foolish red card in his nation's opening game of Euro 2012 - he does have a number of formidable attributes that could see him develop into a top-class 'keeper.
