Manchester United boss David Moyes expects David de Gea to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world, reports The Express.
De Gea, who struggled with form in his early Old Trafford career, has excelled in the past year and even went on to make Premier League Team of the Year as United went on to win the title in the last campaign.
And Moyes, who took over from Sir Alex Ferguson on July 1, has been impressed with his young goalkeeper since arriving at the club.
In his pre-match press conference, the Red Devils boss said: "David had to come in and prove himself at Manchester United.
"Sir Alex bought him young and played him, at times when it was difficult because goalkeeper and centre-half are probably the two hardest positions to put out on the pitch for young players.
"Manchester United doing that over the last couple of years has shown what you can get.
"He is a top goalkeeper. He will go on in time to be one of the best there is. I have no doubts about that."
De Gea was in exceptional form in the Red Devils' last league match as the Spaniard made a wonderful save with his side 1-0 down at Sunderland.
The Red Devils went on to win the match and will now be hoping to make it back-to-back Premier League wins as they take on in-form Southampton at Old Trafford tomorrow.
