Jurgen Klinsmann - Tottenham

Another club facing relegation at the time, Tottenham turned to their former superstar to get them out of the mire, and he did that spectacularly.

After a fantastic spell at the club three years previously, Klinsmann signed on loan from Sampdoria in January 1998 and helped the club remain in the Premier League with a series of inspirational performances.

15 games and nine goals later, including four against a stunned Wimbledon, the German ended his club career on a high by ensuring that the White Hart Lane faithful had something to cheer about come May.
