Being a shooting guard is difficult. Usually, the shooting guard is the best shooter or the best player on a team who can take it in to the hoop. Great shooting guards will have good passing skills and are also generally the best defenders.

Beal was one of the best rookies last year and is arguably the purest shooting rookie in the league. If he continues the way he was playing last season, he will be one of the best shooting guards in the NBA.
PPG: 15.3 APG: 4.4 RBG: 3.5
Mayo is an amazing shooter. He could be one of the best but the opportunities he had with Dallas probably weren't the ones he needed. Maybe with the Bucks he may be able to live up to the hype around him when he was younger.
PPG: 8.6 APG: 1.4 RBG: 4.0
Derrick Rose's injury wasn't all bad, something good eventually came out of it - the emergence of Butler. If he continues the way he played last year, he could win the most improved player this season.

Evans - Rookie of the Year in 2009 - once showed tremendous talent but unfortunately he slowed down and went down hill from there. With Evans' new team, hopefully he may go back to the way he was.
PPG: 19.2 APG: 6.0 RBG: 3.9
A big part of the 'we believe' Warriors team in 2008, Ellis is a tremendous offensive player with great handling skills and moves that get him to the rim. He didn't have the best season with the Bucks, but could improve with the Mavericks.
PPG: 17.0 APG: 3.3 RBG: 1.8
A star player with amazing talent and a good knack for shooting, unfortunately the injury bug is very attracted to Gordon. If he can shake off the injuries he may be a top five shooting guard.
PPG: 11.8 APG: 4.6 RBG: 3.4
Ginobli is a tremendous passer and helps the Spurs offence immensely. He has been with the Spurs since his rookie year and is a big part of all their success.

The purest shooting guard in the game and the other half of the splash brothers. Thompson has a great shot and is slowly becoming a great defender. He could be the next best three and D player in the league.
PPG: 16.3 APG: 3.5 RBG: 3.0
A bit overpaid but an unbelievable player, Johnson has one of the best shooting strokes in the game. When a last second shot is needed, you can be sure Johnson will be volunteering to take it.

Best handler in the league and when Crawford gets hot, he is unstoppable. Great passes, deadly handles and a killer shot, he is one of the best offensive players in the league.
PPG: 21.2 APG: 5.1 RBG: 5.0
For the past 10 years, Wade has been in the top 10 shooting guards in the league. A great clutch player, he led the heat to the championship in 2007 and was also a great leader in the past two years for the defending champion Heat.
PPG: 25.9 APG: 5.9 RBG: 4.9
Fear the beard. Harden improved incredibly after moving to Houston and immediately put the Rockets in championship talk. He was also a main reason why superstar center Dwight Howard signed with the Rockets.
PPG: 27.3 APG: 5.6 RBG: 6.0
Kobe has been the greatest shooting guard for the past decade. He is a beast offensively and also a great defender. He led the Lakers to five titles and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes them to number six.
