Barcelona have been dealt a blow in their alleged pursuit of Thomas Muller after the Bayern Munich forward insisted he plans to honour his contract at the Allianz Arena, reports Sky Sports.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to the reigning La Liga champions after he was recently spotted in Catalunya.
However, the 24-year-old is adamant his planned trip to Spain was not organised to sound out the possibility of a transfer to Camp Nou, and took the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to Pep Guardiola's side.
"I have been there (Barcelona), but it was nothing to do with transfer negotiations," Muller told Sport1 media. "Barcelona is a beautiful city.
"I am under contract with Bayern until 2017. Those who know me as a person are aware that Bayern Munich is my home."
After nurturing Muller through their academy system and helping to propel him towards global stardom, the Bavarian club seems the only place that the player sees his future, with talk of a switch to Barcelona seemingly wide of the mark.
Gerardo Martino will now be forced to turn his attention to alternative targets, after Muller's agent Ludwig Kogl also confirmed his clients plans to remain in the Bundesliga.
"We have not been in discussions with Barcelona. Thomas has a deal until 2017 and he will definitely see out that contract because he feels great at Bayern."
