David Silva better than Ozil, claims Noble

West Ham midfielder Mark Noble says David Silva is currently a better player than Mesut Ozil.

The German playmaker has done nothing but impressed this joining Arsenal in a £42.5m deal from Real Madrid.

Ozil has scored three goals, as well as assisted four in all competitions, helping the Gunners to the top of both their Champions League group and the Premier League.

However, Noble believes Manchester City's Silva is still the better of the two.

He told reporters: "He has got that experience. He has won things with Spain. He has won a championship here, he has won cups here and he is like that week in, week out.

"He is one of the best players on the pitch every time he goes out there. We have seen that over the last how many years since he has been here."

Arsenal fans at the Emirates stadium on Saturday would beg to differ after seeing 25-year-old Ozil score twice against Norwich in a sumptuous 4-1 win.

But Silva himself had a performance to remember at Upton Park as Manchester City ran out 3-1 winners thanks largely to Silva's creative presence in the middle of the park.

The Spanish international scored the third goal - an impressive curling effort - to seal the points for Manuel Pellegrini and keep their fight for the Premier League title alive.
