Tottenham are applying the finishing touches to a deal to bring Croatian starlet Alen Halilovic to White Hart Lane, according to the Metro.
The Dinamo Zagreb wonderkid, compared in many quarters to former Spurs ace Luka Modric, has been followed by Andre Villas-Boas for the best part of a year.
Halilovic, who already has three senior Croatia caps to his name despite being only 17, is now reportedly close to sealing a move to north London for the January transfer window.
The youngster was on the verge of joining the Lilywhites this summer, but the £10million deal was axed due to issues that his father and agent had over his potential to develop in England.
But now Daniel Levy has reportedly met with Dinamo officials to finalise a £12million fee for his services, which would rise to £15million after 50 first-team appearances.
The upfront payment is the preferred option for Spurs, who could wait around until his contract expires next summer instead. However with this option they risk losing him, as he is too young to sign a pre-contract agreement.
