Welsh coach Warren Gatland has named uncapped backs Cory Allen, Eli Walker and Rhodri Williams in the Wales squad ahead of the upcoming Autumn internationals.
Centre Allen and wing Eli Walker replace the injured Jamie Roberts and Alex Cuthbert respectively, whilst scrum-half Rhodri Williams has been called up after his impressive displays for the Wales U20 squad.
There have also been recalls for Perpignan pair Luke Charteris and James Hook, whilst centre Owen Williams and fly-half Rhys Patchell remain in the senior squad following their call up on the tour to Japan in the summer.
Similarly, hooker Emyr Phillips is kept in the squad following the news that Cardiff Blues hooker Matthew Rees will be out of contention as he undergoes testicular surgery.
Sam Warburton will lead the Wales side in their matches against South Africa, Argentina, Tonga and Australia, following his Lions heroics in the summer.
The squad named by Gatland consists of 13 British and Irish Lions stars, including the player of the series Leigh Halfpenny, although the coach of that tour is keen to use these tests as a chance to assess some of the younger players
"We have an important campaign ahead as we look to test ourselves against some of the best sides in the world but also add strength in depth to our squad as we look to the future," said the New Zealander.
"The Rugby World Cup is less than two years away, so we are looking to build as much depth in our squad as possible and to give vital international experience to our players."
Wales open their series against South Africa on November 9, in what is perceived to be the most difficult of their Autumn internationals.
