Fiorentina captain Manuel Pasqual has penned a one-year extension with the Italian club, according to Sky Sports.
The 31-year-old Italy international's deal was due to expire at the end of this summer, but his new contract runs until June 2015, with an option to extend it for a further year.
The skipper, who has been at the club since arriving from Arezzo in 2005, said to Fiorentina's official website: "I want to thank the club that has always believed in me. I am happy to be able to continue to wear this jersey".
Viola sporting director Daniele Prade spoke highly of his captain when questioned about the new deal, saying: "For us Manuel is very important, we are all very proud of him.
"Manuel is the prototype of player that anyone would want. He is educated, clean-cut and above all, he is a fantastic captain."
Pasqual started in 35 of 38 league games last season for the Florence side as they missed out on potential Champions League football by just two points from AC Milan.
He has also played a prominent part in Fiorentina's Serie A campaign so far, which has included 5-2 and 4-2 wins over Genoa and Juventus respectively.
Fiorentina are currently sixth in Serie A, four points from the Champions League places.
