Borussia Dortmund legend Christian Worns believes the club's star defender will become tempted if the giants of European football come calling for him.
Hummels, who has been linked with a €35 million move to Barcelona, is also a reported target for Manchester United and has been sensational for the German outfit over the past year.
The defender played a key role in helping Dortmund to the Champions League final last year and now Worns has revealed that he could be tempted to join one of Europe's elite.
The former Borussia star told Goal.com: “If clubs like Barca, Real, Manchester United or Bayern call, a player always starts to think. That is totally understandable."
Worns believes the star is good enough for the likes of United and Barcelona and has insisted that he is at the right age to make a career defining decision.
Worns continued by saying: "He has proven his quality in every competition. When you have been at a club for a long time, you maybe think of taking a new challenge.
"The most important thing is to consider yourself ready for the task. I wouldn't advise him on anything, as I am not his agent.
"Everybody has to take that decision [over whether to leave for another club] himself. But he is definitely at the right age.”
Hummels' attention for now will be on his sides trip to the Emirates tonight as the German outfit take on Arsenal at the Emirates.
Dortmund have had a tricky start to their European campaign and will be hoping to avoid defeat in north London.
