Chelsea have had a good start to the season with five wins and two draws in eight games, sitting in second spot in the league standings just a couple of points behind leaders Arsenal.

But manager Jose Mourinho still feels there is room for improvement and space to add quality to the existing roster, and has lined up two of the most highly sought after youngsters to join the Blues in January.

With the spending spree reportedly to reach £50m to bring the duo to London, Jose Mourinho want like-for-like players with same potential to fill in whenever necessary. The first player being FC Porto centre-back, Eliaquim Mangala.

He has been exceptional for the Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit and was apparently in the wishlist of several top club like FC Barcelona, Manchester United etc. At just 22-years-old Mangala is a well-known name to football fans all over the world.

During the summer transfer window, Manchester United was close to landing him but the deal did not materialise as the Red Devils were not willing to meet the release clause of £37million, according to Metro, which would not be a problem for The Blues though.

While Mourinho believes he can seal the deal close to £25million-£27million through his contacts in Portugal. A bright young talented centre-back will surely be an asset to the club and a perfect replacement for John Terry who is nearing the twilight of his career.

The second in line is Gianelli Imbula. At just 21-years-old, Imbula became the best player in Ligue 2 while playing for Guingamp and his sensational performances brought him to the limelight as he made a move to Olympique Marseille in 2013.

The creative midfielder has appeared in eight matches for the French Ligue 1 club in the current season, as well as representing France U20, U21 sides, and is being lined up by European heavyweights to join them.

A fee reportedly said to be close to £25million would be enough to sign him, while Chelsea senior scout, Guy Hillion, has confirmed that he has watched the 21-year-old and is pretty impressed with what he saw, according to The Independent.

Equipped with great technical skill and vision for the game, Imbula will boost the Chelsea squad that already has several top quality midfield options who can hit top gear at any given moment of time.

Both Mangala and Imbula will provide depth and dynamics to the star-studded squad which would benefit Chelsea both in Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
