Michael Carrick is close to signing a new deal with Premier League champions Manchester United which will end speculation about his future, according to the Metro.
The 32-year-old's contract ends at the culmination of the current season and he has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford during the opening quarter of this term.
However according to reports the pass-master is set to end speculation by penning a new deal which will tie him to the club for at least the next two seasons.
The deal, which will commence from the end of this campaign, sees Carrick taking home £75,000-a-week and virtually ensures that the former Tottenham midfielder will see out the remainder of his career with United.
Carrick has become an extremely influential figure for the Red Devils and the news that he is set to commit his future to the club following a shaky start to the season is likely to be music to the ears of the supporters.
If he does put pen to paper Moyes can place him alongside starlet Adnan Januzaj in the 'dealt with' pile, whilst Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra are all still yet to cement extensions.
