England head coach Stuart Lancaster has suffered a slight glitch to his England side as first-choice centres Manu Tuilagi and Brad Barritt were both ruled out of the squad for the Autumn internationals due to their injuries.
Barritt is out because of the surgery he had on his damaged ligaments in his foot while Tuilagi is out because he tore one of his pectorals. Barritt will miss the rest of 2013 but hopefully he will be back before February.
English rugby fans were starting to worry, therefore, about who was going to replace these two 2013 Lions. On England's recent summer tour of Argentina, Lancaster picked new boys Kyle Eastmond, Billy Twelvetrees. Luther Burrell and Jonathan Joseph.
Burrell happens to be one of the three uncapped centres. The series in Argentina ended with Eastmond and Joseph starting in the centre spots as Twelvetrees was called out to Australia as injury cover for the Lions. Originally it was Twelvetrees and Joseph and they were both very impressive and managed to get on the scoresheet.
Next month, Lancaster could go with Eastmond and Twelvetrees or he could go for something new. He could also go back to what he had in his first ever England squad by putting Owen Farrell in the centre.
The three uncapped centres in the England squad that have been picked are Burrell, Henry Trinder and Joel Tomkins. These are highly-rated players and it will be interesting to see if they can make a real impact against the likes of Conrad Smith and Christian Lealiifano.
Personally, I am a fan of Trinder. I think he is the best of those aforementioned and it would be brilliant if he starts against Argentina.
If I was going to be realistic, I would guess that Lancaster will go for Eastmond and Twelvetrees in the centre, but I would prefer Farrell and Twelvetrees with Freddie Burns at fly half. However, I would be open to Trinder starting in the centre.
