Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of former AC Milan and Sporting Lisbon centre-back Oguchi Onyewu on a free transfer.
The former USA international joins the Championship outfit after a difficult spell with Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, where he made only 17 appearances in two years.
In his second year with the club he made a loan move to Spanish side Malaga where he made only two appearances.
The well travelled defender is expected to fill the void left by Chris Samba, who returned to Russia after less than one season with the club.
QPR currently sit at the summit of the Championship and Onyewu is thrilled to have made the move to England.
"I'm thrilled to get this period over with and finally secure my future. QPR are a club with huge ambitions to return to the Premier League and I wanted to be part of it," he told QPR's official website.
"I had a really good feeling about QPR from the moment I arrived here. I've been welcomed by the club and I feel good here already. I've already integrated well into the group, so I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be a very successful and happy time here," he added.
QPR have conceded only four times in eleven league appearances, and Hoops boss Harry Redknapp will hope that Onyewu will strengthen his defence further.
