Robert Lewandowski's future has been hanging in the balance for many months now, even since last seasons Champions League final loss to bitter rivals Bayern Munich in May.
Many thought when he turned down a contract offer from current club BorussiaDortmund that his destination would be the Allianz Arena wearing the red of the European champions.
Only a matter of days ago Lewandowski's camp intimated that he would choose a move to one of the Premier League's big clubs.
It appears to be all smoke and mirrors at the moment with the player's future still very much undecided.
There is also a conflicting reports that Bayern have or are close to offering the player a £10 million signing on fee for his services if he agrees to move in the summer.
Current club Dortmund are believed to be refusing to let him walk out on his contract early, as they require Lewandowski for their assault on this seasons Champions league and Bundesliga.
The Polish centre-forward would have definitely impressed most of Europe last night with his efficiency in front of goal.
A game which was predominately dictated by Arsenal, he took his chance well when it came to grabbing a winner five minutes from time.
Lewandowski was on fire for Dortmund last season and was one of the main protagonists of their impressive Champions League run.
The player has also carried on where he left off last campaign and has averaged a goal a game already this season and he is sure to have many suitors whether it be in January or next summer.
