Spanish newspaper AS claims that Song is now a target for the Italian club, having fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp.
In truth, he has failed to settle at Barcelona since his summer 2012 move from Arsenal, but the arrival of new boss Gerardo Martino seems to have cast him further adrift of the first-team squad.
He's made just three league appearances this season, and has been linked with a return to Arsenal.
But the latest reports suggest the Gunners could face competition from Inter Milan. The Serie A club struggled last season, but things seem to be moving in a positive direction.
New coach Walter Mazzarri has guided Inter to fifth in the league, while Indonesian multimillionaire Erick Thohir recently bought a 70 per cent stake in the club and has reportedly made up to €100m available for transfers.
After a period of cost-cutting, that would put Inter Milan back in the market for players of the calibre of Song and they could pose a serious threat to Arsenal's hopes of bringing the Cameroon international back to the Emirates Stadium.
