Although currently leading the league standings with 19 points from eight games, Arsene Wenger will undoubtedly be contemplating adding further quality to the existing squad at the next opportunity.

The arrival of German international Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for £42.4million, has clearly rejuvenated the whole roster, which is showing in their performances on the pitch every week.

However Wenger will be keen that neither the team nor the fans get carried away with complacency, and so more January signings must be made to ensure they keep up their momentum without stagnating.

With only Olivier Giroud at disposal at Emirates, Arsenal need another striker and Wenger is reportedly eyeing a loan move for Spain international Fernando Llorente to ease his selection woes and strengthen his frontline.

Llorente left La Liga side Athletic Bilbao this summer to join Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer, but has largely failed to make any sort of impact. He currently finds himself way down the pecking order, with Carlos Tevez, Mirko Vucinic and Sebastian Giovinco all preferred by manager Antonio Conte.

With the World Cup in Brazil in mind, reports have suggested that the forward sees the chance to move to Arsenal as a blessing-in-disguise and is keen to join the Gunners.

Competition for a place in the Spain squad for Brazil 2014 is high, with Alvaro Negredo (Manchester City), Roberto Soldado (Tottenham), Fernando Torres (Chelsea), Michu (Swansea) and now Diego Costa, Fernando Llorente wants to feature more for his club in a bid to find a way in to Vicente del Bosque’s shortlist.

With Llorente having played in a mere five matches for the Turin outfit and only having netted once in the league and once in the Champions League, a loan move seems to be ideal for all parties involved.

An economic move for Arsene Wenger, Llorente would fit in the Gunners mould of play and would no doubt come up with instrumental performances once he puts on the red and white shirt of Arsenal.
