Leeds United loan Forest forward
Leeds United confirm three-month deal for striker Dexter Blackstock
Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Nottingham Forest's Dexter Blackstock on a three-month loan deal.
Blackstock, 27, has an abundance of Championship experience, having netted 83 goals in 306 career appearances for Southampton, Queens Park Rangers and Nottingham Forest - however, he has featured only three times for Forest this term, and thus has been allowed to leave for a temporary spell at Elland Road.
Leeds have been lacking firepower upfront this season, scoring just 13 goals in 12 league games.
They will look for Blackstock to ease their reliance on Ross McCormack, who has netted six times this season.
United manager Brian McDermott told the club's website: “I’ve known Dexter for a long time, being brought up in Oxford. I’m really pleased we’ve managed to secure his services.
"He’s a really good age for a striker and I’m sure he has many good years in front of him. We are all really looking forward to working with him.”
He is expected to be in the Whites' squad for their derby fixture against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
