Arsenal boss: Wilshere goal better than Kasami's

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in no doubt that Jack Wilshere's goal against Norwich City from last weekend is better than Pajtim Kasami's strike for Fulham against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Kasami's wonderful effort has been hailed as a potential goal of the season contender, while Wilshere finished off a stunning move following a series of intricate passes.

Fulham manager Martin Jol even described Kasami's goal as better than Marco van Basten's famous volley for the Netherlands at Euro '88, but Wenger firmly believes his player's goal was more difficult to execute.

"Kasami scored an exceptional goal but many players can score a goal like that," the Frenchman commented during Friday's press conference. "To score a goal like Wilshere's is more difficult."

With the end of October fast approaching, we will soon find out whether Wilshere or Kasami - or potentially someone else, of course - wins the Goal of the Month award, which could provide a clue as to who will eventually win the coveted Goal of the Season accolade.

However, with another seven months of the season left to play, it would be dangerous to presume that these two goals are guaranteed to be the front-runners for the award.
