Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney celebrated his 28th birthday in low-key fashion, after going out for dinner with family and friends at his favourite Chinese restaurant, reports the Daily Mail.
Along with his wife Coleen, and two sons Kai and Klay, Rooney invited club teammate Ryan Giggs to Wings in central Manchester.
England goalkeeper Joe Hart was another surprise guest at the bash, given his obvious connection with local rivals Manchester City.
The Etihad Stadium stopper joined the Manchester United star's celebrations with girlfriend Kimberley Crew, and put their respective rivalry briefly to one side.
All three players - Rooney, Hart and Giggs - enjoyed an evening out, off the back of hard-fought victories in the Champions League in midweek.
Manchester United beat Real Sociedad 1-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday, while Manchester City overcame CSKA Moscow following a 2-1 away victory in Russia earlier that afternoon.
Rooney and Giggs return to Premier League action when David Moyes's side take on Stoke City at home on Saturday, while Hart will travel to west London with the rest of Manuel Pellegrini's squad for Sunday's clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
