Despite their solid and wholly commendable start to the new Champions League campaign that continued with a 1-0 victory over La Liga outfit Real Sociedad at Old Trafford last night, Manchester United have endured an underwhelming start to the new domestic season under new boss David Moyes.

Although a number of pressing problems could be identified as to why the Red Devils find themselves now with seemingly no room whatsoever for error in the title race following a series of lacklustre performances, one evident issue surrounds their current crop of misfiring wingers.

With the likes of Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Nani and Wilfried Zaha all flattering to deceive, it is clear that the Scot needs to solve this particular conundrum.  Here, we take a look at five impressive widemen who Moyes could target to remedy the issue...

Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez has been linked with a move away from Barcelona recently, despite his excellent start to the 2013/14 campaign. With Brazilian star Neymar often chosen as the preferred accomplice to the supreme talent that is Lionel Messi.

With pace and an abundance of trickery, Sanchez could - if he can suitably curb the somewhat theatrical side to his game - thrive in the Premier League and would command a starting berth at Old Trafford.

Marco Reus

Given his important standing at one of Europe's most in-form and reputable clubs in Borussia Dortmund, obtaining Reus could prove to be somewhat of a problem.

However, despite their recent woes, United and Moyes should always remember their own enormous reputation and continue to attempt to secure such high-profile targets. With his versatility and eye for goal, Reus would adapt to the Premier League in seamless fashion.

Angel di Maria

Despite a plethora of interest in the Argentine international during the summer, Di Maria ultimately remained at current club Real Madrid. Although a regular fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu, the wily winger continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

Di Maria is evidently streets ahead of United's current winger quartet and his skills and proven abilities in one Europe's top teams will have prepared him well for a potential switch to Old Trafford.

Gabriel Agbonlahor

Probably considered to be somewhat of a wildcard on this list, Agbonlahor appears to have fallen off the radar of bigger clubs following a blistering start to his career at Villa Park several seasons ago.

However, with the Villains looking to establish a new, fresh identity under the tutelage of Paul Lambert, the 27-year-old appears to have re-asserted his credentials as a potential international player.

With bags of pace and lots of top-flight experience, Agbonlahor could provide a serious threat on the flank for United and replace former teammate Young in the long-term.

Jefferson Farfan

Peruvian international Farfan is another that seems to fly unfairly under the radar during discussions of Europe's most-talented wingers.

However, the 28-year-old former PSV Eindhoven star has impressed for Schalke and could continue to thrive given the opportunity at such a big club.
