Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has become the target of a spoof comedy sketch on Catalan TV, with press likening the £86million man to fictional film character Forrest Gump, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The Welsh winger is set to experience his first El Clasico when Carlo Ancelotti's side travel to Camp Nou to take on Barcelona on Saturday evening, having recovered from the injury problems that have hampered his integration at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the short film, Bale is depicted as Forrest, sitting on a plane next to Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, who is in charge of explaining to the 24-year-old how Los Blancos can beat the Blaugranas - essentially by stopping Lionel Messi.

With a hunched back, and protruding lips and chin, it's not the kindest of character references made by the Catalan press, but it's something the former Spurs star might have to get used to, after pledging his allegiance to Barcelona's bitter rivals.

Ancelotti hinted in his pre-match press conference that Bale could be ready to start El Clasico at the weekend, and added that he's comfortable playing on the right wing, following a recent debate about his preferred position.

"Since he's been here, he has not had a back problem," the Italian is quoted by Goal.com. "The problem was his physical condition, as he hadn't trained.

"Now he's good, he's ready to play from the start. He could start against Barcelona.

"I asked him and he told me he prefers to play from the right. I think he likes playing from the right so he can shoot from his left foot."
