Arsenal and Chelsea face competition for the signing of Karim Benzema, with Italian sources cited by talkSPORT claiming that Inter Milan have added the French striker to their shortlist.
25-year-old Benzema, who arrived at current club Real Madrid from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon during the summer of 2009, has suffered an alarming dip in popularity at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, with fans certainly not shy to make their displeasure known on match days.
His future at Real would seem to have been in doubt for some time, with Benzema having been persistently linked with a switch away from Madrid during the summer.
Among the clubs considered to be in the running for the France international include Arsenal, with London rivals Chelsea also having had their name thrown into the equation after the window slammed shut last month.
That aforementioned duo could struggle to land the in-demand frontman, however, with reports suggesting that Serie A giants Inter Milan - who are now tipped to become major players in the market thanks to the financial power likely to be afforded to them following their recent takeover - have added him to their transfer shortlist.
Inter could well need every inch of that new-found financial muscle to lure Benzema, with rival reports suggesting that an unnamed English top-flight club are already in Madrid and are prepared to discuss a bid of around €50 million.
