Luke Shaw to reject United for Chelsea move

Highly-rated Southampton starlet Luke Shaw will reject any offers from Manchester United, in order to keep his dream of moving to Chelsea alive, according to the Daily Star.

Reports suggest that United boss David Moyes, who was heavily linked with Shaw in the summer transfer window, will return for the youngster in January, having become frustrated in his protracted chase for Everton full-back Leighton Baines.

With Patrice Evra edging closer to the exit door at Old Trafford, the Scot needs to provide cover in the left-back position and sees Shaw as the ideal candidate in the long-term.

However the 18-year-old, who has been impressive in the Premier League this year, will reject his advances and hold out for a Chelsea bid.

According to the Daily Star, a source close to the England U21 star said: "Luke’s a huge Chelsea fan and he’d be delighted to play for them.

"United’s interest is flattering but he knows he doesn’t have to rush anywhere just yet."

Jose Mourinho may well be in the market for a full-back as Ashley Cole's years continue to advance, however they do have fellow rising hopeful Ryan Bertrand amongst their ranks, and so it will be interesting to see if the Blues boss opts to dip into the transfer market for Shaw.
