Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has been urged to go out on loan, by the football scout who discovered the 20-year-old's talent, reports BBC Sport.

Dave Webb, who worked at the time as a scout for Crystal Palace, discovered Zaha playing football in a park in south London at the age of 13.

Zaha then went on to sign for Manchester United in a £15 million deal, although he has yet to play a minute of Premier League football for the Red Devils.

His last action came in the Community Shield against Wigan Athletic, in which he played 61 minutes of action.

Manchester United won the game 2-0, although since this game the winger has not featured at all for the David Moyes's side.

Webb told BBC Sport: "He would benefit from playing more competitive football and a loan move would help with his development."

Zaha has recently been linked with a loan move away from Manchester United with Newcastle being just one team linked with the star.Webb feels that this would be best for the 20-year-old.

"He is realistic and knows he is at a big club and has to compete and fight for his place. It's a lot different club to Crystal Palace. He has a good work ethic and will continue working hard in training.

"He's not getting any football, Wilf is a good character but he just likes to play, so a loan move to another Premier League club would suit him."

Webb feels that Newcastle would be a good club for Zaha to go to on loan, but he also predicts good things for Zaha at Manchester United in the future.

"He needs to go to a footballing side which utilises wingers rather than a direct team," he added. "Newcastle play a good style of football and Alan Pardew is a very good manager who likes to play with pace and power and Wilf would benefit from that."

Webb now works as the head of recruitment for AFC Bournemouth, however feels that the lack of playing time will not affect Zaha.

What would you do if you were Moyes? Would you send the winger on loan?
