Chelsea boss pondering over €35m Balotelli move

Published 8 Comments

Jose Mourinho is weighing up the possibility of moving for ex-Manchester City bad-boy Mario Balotelli, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Italian, who has so far had a career marred with controversy at every turn, moved to AC Milan from City in January of this year, but is already being linked with the exit door.

And it's Chelsea, and more pertinently Mourinho, that are being tipped to lead the race to sign him, with a shock move back to the Premier League on the cards.

The Blues' boss has history with Balotelli, having worked with him when the pair were at Inter Milan, and sees the 23-year-old as an ideal candidate to bolster his attacking options.

According to A Bola Balotelli is available to purchase in January for €35million, and Mourinho may well decide that is a fair price to pay for a player with bags of natural ability.

Whether or not the Special One can finally curb the behavioural problems of the troubled striker is another question entirely, but Chelsea fans would no doubt love to see Balotelli plying his trade at Stamford Bridge.
