4. Manchester United, 1997/1998

Football News

Going into March, Manchester United were an incredible 13 points clear of nearest rivals Arsenal.

Sure, the Gunners had a few games in hand, but to make up a 13-point deficit with so few games remaining was impossible.

However, an incredible run of wins from the Gunners, coupled with several key injuries for United meant the race was on.

When Arsene Wenger's side - in their first full campaign with the Frenchman - went to Old Trafford towards the back end of the season, a winner from Marc Overmars seemed to shift the momentum the way of North London.

Continuing to rack up win after win, Arsenal sealed the title with a famous goal from legend Tony Adams before completing a memorable double.
