Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas will not make any new signings in January, despite £40 million being available to him, according to Goal.com.
The Spurs boss spent over £100m on new recruits in the summer after the departure of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and the north London club have made an impressive start to the Premier League season sitting in fourth place with 19 points from their opening nine games.
However, despite being given the green light to spend up to £40m in January, the Portuguese tactician won't bring in any recruits as Villas-Boas doesn't expect a player of a high enough standard will be available.
The Spurs boss still wants to bring a new left-back and striker to the club, but will now wait until next summer and work on securing Champions League qualification with his current squad.
Villas-Boas is still trying to gel his side through the early stages of this campaign, but will be satisfied after the north London outfit beat Hull City 1-0 at White Hart Lane yesterday, thanks to a Roberto Soldado penalty.
