Eleven men dressed in all-black robes made an appearance at Bayern Munich's home match against Hertha Berlin at the weekend, according to Goal.com.

The group of men reportedly made odd synchronized gestures during a match which Bayern eventually Munich won 3-2.

They were sat just six rows away from the pitch and were seen by people watching from all over the world.

Torsten Schmidt, a fan that was at the stadium, said: "It was very weird. They sat very still for a long time but then would hold their hands together, or stand up in unison and then sit down today.

"Everyone near me was very confused. Some people laughed, some looked astonished. It was very weird."

The story however, gets even more strange. The circular symbol on the chests of their robes resembled a logo seen all over the world in the past week but seemingly remains unexplained.

The first sighting took place in Rio de Janeiro, then in London and New York, and around other various locations in Brazil. The sighting at the Allianz Arena  is the latest of the lot.

At the various locations at which the symbol has appeared, a message of "#WINNERTAKESEARTH" has appeared also.
