Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all destinations Schalke's exciting young star Julian Draxler has been linked with this year and he even admitted he would one day like to turn out for one of them.
With all of Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and David Moyes being credited with an interest in the 20-year-old, it was always going to be difficult for any of them to pull off the deal.
It could well have got much more difficult as L'Equipe are reporting that PSG have got him on their radar for a possible January transfer window bid.
Arsenal were linked with a big money move for Draxler in the closing days of the summer transfer window before eventually purchasing Mesut Özil from Real Madrid for a club record £42.4million.
However, they could well reignite their interest as Wenger looks to further reinforce his side come January, as the Gunners reportedly still have more to spend on transfers.
Meanwhile, Manchester United's creativity problem could be solved by recruiting the Germany international and Moyes has no option but to improve his squad in the winter window, as they are already a long way behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League.
Chelsea have a plethora of young and talented attacking midfielders, so a move for Draxler may not make the most sense, though owner Roman Abramovich has already proved he is willing to spend big to recruit young talent, despite already having a position well covered.
