Across the Premier League this weekend it was the big guns in attack that proved decisive.
For Liverpool, the burgeoning partnership between Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez appeared to fully bloom as the latter struck three against West Brom before the former hit a contender for goal of the season.
Elsewhere Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie were coming to Manchester United's rescue against Stoke and one half of Manchester City's own gruesome twosome Sergio Aguero almost rescued a point for his side against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Of course that has prompted the debate about which attacking partnership is the best in the Premier League.

For teams that operate with just one striker we have included their regular partner in crime behind them - the playmaker.
