Monaco are set to make a move for Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, according to The Express.
Kompany, who has struggled with injury for the Etihad outfit this season, is seen as one of the world's best defenders and Ligue 1 big spenders Monaco now want to bring the Citizens' captain to France.
The French outfit were reportedly interested in the Belgian centre-back in the summer along with Spanish giants Barcelona, however, after a move didn't materialise, Monaco are now set to renew their interest in the star in January.
Despite a fee having not been set for Kompany, it's expected the Ligue 1 side will have to spend big in order to bring the towering defender to the club.
And, with Monaco's owner Dmitry Rybolovlev looking to improve the side at the back, it seems the club have pin pointed the City defender as their main target ahead of the next transfer window.
